“A Laramie police officer was injured in an altercation and a Laramie man was injured in an altercation late Wednesday night, according to a media release issued this morning by the Laramie Police Department.
According to the release, at 11 p.m. Tuesday, Laramie officers responded to a call for service in the 400 block of South 22nd. Officials say officers were confronted by an aggressive male subject who assaulted one of the officers with a weapon. During the altercation, the suspect was shot by the officer.
The officer was transported by ambulance to Ivinson Memorial Hospital where he was treated for his injuries and was subsequently released. The officer’s name was not released.
The suspect, 26-year-old Kevin R. Cook, was transferred to an unnamed hospital where he underwent surgery and is now listed in serious but stable condition.”
