Gregory H. Harrison, 46, killed when Police Officer Keith Casada Jr. shot him with an AR-15

“A man was shot and killed by a Bowling Green police officer early Sunday during an incident that began when the man allegedly called authorities to say he was going to kill his brother.

The officer-involved shooting occurred about 2 a.m. in the 1100 block of Clay Street. Gregory H. Harrison, 46, of Brownsville allegedly made the threat while standing in a parking lot with a gun, according to a news release issued by Kentucky State Police.

Bowling Green police officers found Harrison standing on railroad tracks and said he screamed for them to shoot him. State police said the officers at the scene described Harrison as highly intoxicated and noted he was hiding one of his hands. Officers said Harrison began to approach them and ignored their commands.

State police said officer Keith Casada Jr. shot one round with his issued AR-15 rifle and struck Harrison in the upper midsection. Harrison was taken to Bowling Green Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.”
