“An armed man who was shot by a Seattle police officer early Monday is suspected of shooting another man a half-hour earlier, according to police.
The first shooting happened around 1:20 a.m. when the 19-year-old man went to an apartment in the 7900 block of Rainier Avenue South, knocked at the door and asked for a man by name, Seattle police said.
When the 34-year-old man came to the door, police said, the younger man fired several gunshots, striking the victim in the stomach and hand.
The victim was taken to Harborview Medical Center, where he is being treated for wounds police said do not appear life-threatening.
The suspected gunman was spotted by an officer about a half-hour later at Pritchard Island Beach Park, police said.
Police said the man matched witnesses’ description of the gunman in the earlier shooting. The suspect, who was armed, refused to put down his handgun when confronted by an officer. The man pointed the weapon at the officer and was shot, police said.
The 19-year-old is being treated for multiple gunshot wounds at and is expected to survive, police said.
Police said the suspect’s handgun was recovered and appears to be the same type of weapon used in the earlier shooting. The 19-year-old will be booked into jail once he is released from the hospital, police said.”
