“Two officers could be placed on administrative leave following a deadly shooting. According to Catawba County Sheriff’s Department, the call came in around 7:15 p.m. at a home on Hudspeth Road on Sunday. The woman stated in the 911 call she was locked in the house with her husband. The first officers arrived on scene shortly after 7:30 p.m. and quickly confirmed that this was a hostage situation.
Shortly afterwards, the woman escaped through the back door of the house. That’s when police say, 50-year-old Jimmy Dean Cash came outside with a gun and pointed it at two officers. Those officers then shot and killed him.
Catawba authorities tell us the two officers involved will go through a briefing and may be put on administrative leave during the investigation. The SBI is investigating. Stay tuned for more on this story as details become available.”
