“It all started at about 6:30 a.m. when the Surprise Police Department, taking the lead as part of a multi-agency task force, served a search warrant on a home in the neighborhood of 26th Place and McDowell Road.
It’s not yet known why the search warrant was issued, but at some point during the operation, the suspect or suspects inside the home opened fire on officers. Those officers fired back.
One suspect was killed in the shootout. Police have not released any information about that person.”
