“Chief William McManus said the officer, who was on duty, received a call from a female friend around 2 a.m. Friday.
The friend, Abigail Hernandez, was at a nightclub and told the officer her ex-boyfriend, Alfredo Hector Aragon, was threatening her and she feared for her life.
McManus said the officer picked up the woman at the club and drove to her apartment complex on Micron.”
“The woman was shot twice, but instead of stopping and waiting for EMS, the officer went to Aragon’s house on Fieldwood.
“There was a fear that there may be some further violence with the children who were in the house,” said McManus. “So that was something the officer was trying to prevent.”
That’s where police say a final shootout took place, leaving Aragon lying facedown in his front yard, handcuffed, and shot to death.”
