State trooper shoots and kills driver in Worcester, Mass., female passenger managed to escape

“A suspect is dead, following an overnight shooting involving Massachusetts State Police – and police are now searching for a woman who was on the scene with the suspect.

The shooting happened at Chandler and Irving Streets in Worcester early Thursday morning, after a state trooper attempted to stop a car that had been reported stolen.
According to police, the trooper ran the plates of a Honda Accord when he noticed suspicious activity. When he learned the car had been reported stolen, he attempted to pull the car over.
Police on the scene say the driver refused to get out of the car. The trooper reportedly got out of his cruiser, when the driver charged at the officer.
Police say the trooper opened fire out of fear for his own life.”
Video reports that the trooper shot the victim in the torso.
